Crossref has recently released Schema 5.5 which introduces compatibility with the CRediT contributor roles taxonomy – alongside support for multiple contributor roles.
This update enables Crossref members to describe research contributions in greater detail using the internationally recognised CRediT taxonomy. “By supporting standardized contributor roles, Schema 5.5 helps improve transparency and interoperability across the scholarly communications ecosystem,” says Patricia Feeney, Crossref Head of Metadata.
Schema 5.5 also includes:
- updates to report series metadata,
- blogs and posters in the posted content record type,
- a new archive location, and
- clinical trial metadata extended to additional record types.
